Please give us your input concerning the events, activities and vendors you'd like to see or participate in this year as well as in future years.

This event will be conducted in association with Healing Harvest Forest Foundation. There will be an admission charged with advanced ticket sales used to pay for advertising: $15.00 single day entry, $25.00 for both days. If turn out is good travel compensation will be made for invited demonstration teamsters. We anticipate participation by teamsters throughout the southeastern U.S. and members of the Healing Harvest Forestry Coalition. Volunteers needed and welcomed!

So far, the plan is to have again this year:

Field demonstrations (seasonally appropriate) of new and old equipment, plowing, seedbed preparation, cover crop planting,

Every vendor of related equipment and merchandise we can get to come,

Lectures, round pen seminars, music, local food,

Animal powered restorative/sustainable forestry demonstration,

Invitational horse pulling contest on Friday evening and maybe an invitational mule pull on Saturday evening.

The event will be about small scale (teams and single) animal powered use and limited multiple hitch sized equipment. The goal is to attract, educate, equip and inspire more start up and small scale people in this culture of modern animal powered techniques.

All participating animals will be by invitation only - negative coggins required.

We will have a meeting here to determine next year's location, dates and organizers.

The location for this year is the Blue Ridge Institute at Ferrum College in Ferrum, Virginia.
Directions are available on their web site.

Stay tuned to Rural Heritage, Small Farm Journal and Draft Horse Journal, and mark the dates on your 2010 Mischka Draft Animal calendars to come on down south for an early fall event.
